Am 14. Dezember 2023 findet ein Gastvortrag von Prof. Dr. Catherine Wilson im Rahmen des Seminars "What Matters: Science" von Dr. Rodolfo Garau statt.
ABSTRACT DES VORTRAGS: Commentators have long been perturbed by the apparent 'disconnect' between Kant's formal universalism, and his idea of a 'noumenal self' as a locus of moral agency, and his applied moral and political theory which is racist and misogynist. The paper argues that there is no such disconnection. While Kant's views are based in false belief, they are coherent. As Enlightenment philosopher, Kant comes up short compared with many of his contemporaries.
Die Veranstaltung finden am Donnerstag, den 14. Dezember 2023 von 16 - 18 Uhr im Hörsaal M, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1 (ESA) statt.
